Sean Michael Murphy, the Founder and Managing Partner of MedAx Capital, has been an entrepreneur in the finance industry for over 25 years. As a teenager, he was one of the youngest licensed securities traders on Wall Street and quickly gained a reputation as an aggressive yet calculated risk taker. In 2011, Mr. Murphy founded First Colonial Group, a boutique investment firm located in midtown Manhattan. In 2018, he successfully exited the firm to become a partner of a multibillion-dollar international investment bank with five offices worldwide. His focus was Reg-A and private equity transactions in the life sciences space.

Possessing a unique skillset with experience in private and public markets, Mr. Murphy has deep knowledge of options, derivatives, and complex investment banking transactions spanning SPACs, Reg-A, private placements, PIPEs, mergers, spin-offs, uplisting, and other restructurings.

Mr. Murphy is a second-generation member of Wall Street; his mother paved the way for not just her family but women as a whole on the floor of the NYSE in 1969. He was born and raised in New York and has spent 27 years living and working in Manhattan. He recently relocated to Dallas, Texas with his wife Corinne and three-year-old twins, Sean and Trinity.
